Meet Alaina
I’m a NYC-based creative who tells stories through any artistic medium I desire. From early days in dance and theatre, reading, and creative curiosity to studying musical theatre and discovering cosplay, I’ve always been drawn to characters, worlds, and the details that bring them to life. Now I blend these passions into portraits, performance work, and visual design that celebrate imagination, emotion, life, and the quiet magic in everyday moments.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet—come explore and get lost in creativity with me.
The Path of a Creative
Early life
I discovered stories and images through books, plays, movies, and everyday moments. I started dance and theatre at a young age and was always artistically inclined. I always had a strong fascination with the world and how it worked and how it was shaped. In classes I would sketch in notebooks, scrap paper, wherever I could put a pencil. I received my first camera at 14 and all my artistic worlds and interests began to blend. I started realizing how much I loved turning small details into something expressive and memorable.
College
I studied musical theatre while deepening my passions in artistic projects and photography, starting to become the "resident backstage photographer." At this time I discovered cosplay as a new way to explore costume design and creating characters beyond the stage or screen. I combined my passions for art, cosplay, photography and content creation, using these skills, to establish "The Scarlet Fritz" online persona.
Now
Based in NYC, I work to weave together all my creative passions, including photography, writing, performance, and collaborative art projects. I design ads and posters for a ballet group and freelance across all of my artistic facets. I continually challenge myself to learn new things—exploring different photographic styles, expanding my editing and design skills and software, and constantly experimenting with new artistic mediums.
